Surge testing site continues at UW-L

A busy COVID-19 testing site in La Crosse will continue operating for a few more weeks. 

UW-La Crosse has received more financial and personnel support, so it can keep the surge testing site at Cartwright Center in business until early April. 

The site was supposed to close permanently on January 22nd, but instead it will be shut down for next week and re-open on February 1st. 

Thousands of rapid COVID tests have been conducted at Cartwright since November, delivering results in about 15 minutes. 

More tests are now available, and staffing will be provided to continue the surge testing. 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
