A La Crosse man is now charged with a shooting incident this month at a house on 5th Avenue South.

Tyrone Johnson is accused of firing four shots in the backyard of a house on the night of January 20th, and then driving off in a van carrying young kids.  No one was hurt by the gunfire.

Police found two firearms in the van.

Johnson was convicted on drug charges in Illinois five years ago, and local prosecutor Megan Gomez notes that Johnson has four other open cases in La Crosse County.

Judge Gloria Doyle has set Johnson’s bond at $10,000 cash, and his next court hearing is scheduled for February 8th.

Because of conflicts of interest, an attorney from outside the public defender’s office will be appointed to represent Johnson.
