Another 83 cases of COVID-19 reported Monday out of La Crosse County.

It’s the highest total since Jan. 13 (85). The county is now averaging 43.4 cases a day over the past week. That average is the same as it was one week ago, so the county has leveled off on new cases.

There were no hospitalizations of county residents over the weekend, according to the Coulee COVID-19 Collaborative.

La Crosse County did report two — not three — deaths over the weekend. The state has yet to change its stats for a recent death, because that person was from another county.

Of the 69 deaths in La Crosse, 48 have been people aged 80 and over. There have been 13 deaths of people in their 70s, seven in their 60s and one in their 50s.

In surrounding counties, no deaths reported over the weekend. Only Vernon County continues to see a consistently large number of cases daily.

Here’s a look at those new cases, the average cases the past week, total and active cases, as well as current hospitalizations in surrounding counties from Saturday-Monday:

Wisconsin Minnesota and Iowa reported under 1,000 cases Monday. Wisconsin and Minnesota being under 1,000 on the same day hasn’t happened since Oct. 15.

Wisconsin has reported under 1,000 cases just three times since Oct. 15. The third day was Dec. 26, which would make sense because of the holiday. Minnesota has been under 1,000 cases four day this month. Iowa, eight times.
