COVID-19 cases ticking up in La Crosse County; Minnesota under 1,000 for 3rd day

No COVID-19 hospitalizations or deaths reported Wednesday of La Crosse County residents.

There were 41 more cases, and the average cases has now ticked up for the second consecutive day.

The county is now averaging 42 cases a day over the past week. Last week, it was averaging 37.

The La Crosse County Health Department will have a public briefing at noon Friday to discuss COVID-19 vaccination rollout. Health director Jen Rombalski will lead the briefing, which can be seen at WIZMnews.com/videos.


In surrounding counties, no new reported deaths. Here’s a look at new cases, the average cases the past week, total and active cases, as well as current hospitalizations from Wednesday:

Statewide, Wisconsin numbers Wednesday were very close to its averages the past week, which can all be seen below. Minnesota reported under 1,000 cases for the third consecutive day, which hasn’t happened since Oct. 5-7. And Iowa’s reported single-digit death tolls five days in a row.
