WAFER Food Pantry ‘Fill Your Freezer’ meat giveaway happening Wednesday

A local food pantry is doing heavy lifting for families in need this week.

On Wednesday from 1:30-2:30 p.m., WAFER Food Pantry will give away 30 pounds of meat per household in a drive-thru ‘Fill Your Freezer’ event at 403 Causeway Blvd.

The products include chicken, beef, fish, pork varieties and more.

People do need to have an active account with WAFER to participate, but WAFER said they are still accepting in-person registrations before Wednesday.

Kaitlyn Riley’s passion for communications started on her family’s dairy farm in Gays Mills, Wis. Wanting to share agriculture’s story, she studied strategic communications and broadcast journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
