A 16-year-old driver was not hurt when his vehicle started on fire while driving north on State Hwy 131 Thursday afternoon.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 3:00 p.m. of a vehicle on fire near Aumock road in the Town of Stark.

The La Farge teen heard a noise from the engine, so he pulled over and checked under the hood. That’s when he saw flames coming from the engine area.

The La Farge Fire Department and Ron Driscol Towing helped at the scene.
