UPDATE: Names released in fatal Trempealeau Co. accident
A Blair man is dead and two teenagers were hurt after a two-car accident in Trempealeau County Thursday evening.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office said 68-year-old Ernest J. Berg of Blair was driving north on Hwy 53. He was making a left turn onto State Road 95 when he came into the path of a Chevrolet truck driven by a 17-year-old with a 14-year-old passenger. Both teenagers are from Whitehall.
The vehicles collided. Ernest was ejected and pinned under the vehicle. He was taken to Tri-County Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The incident is still under investigation.
One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-car crash Thursday evening.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office said a Chevrolet Tahoe was driving north on Hwy 53 and turned left onto State Road 95 after 7:00 p.m. The Tahoe turned into the path of a southbound Chevrolet C1500.
The driver of the Tahoe was ejected and pinned under the vehicle. That person was extracted and transported by Tri-County Memorial Hospital but died from injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet C1500 both had minor injuries and were also taken to Tri-County Memorial Hospital.
U.S. Hwy 53 and State Road 95 were closed during the initial investigation.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of those involved.
