Gov. Evers to visit new La Crosse COVID vaccine clinic, which opens Tuesday

A new state-run COVID vaccination clinic for the La Crosse area opens Tuesday morning at UWL. 

Governor Tony Evers and UW System President Tommy Thompson will be on hand to tour the clinic at the Cleary Alumni Center, before it opens to the public at 11 a.m. 

The La Crosse location is one of four recently set up by state health officials. 

People seeking the vaccine can register on a state website to make appointments at the clinic, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays, until further notice.     

While on campus, Evers and Thompson will also have information about construction of a second new science building for the campus.   The first building for the Prairie Springs Science Center opened at UWL in 2018.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
