La Crosse nearing 22% inoculated, as county gets state’s 2nd COVID vaccination clinic
From zero COVID-19 cases Monday to 15 Tuesday for La Crosse County.
No cases in a day hadn’t happened since May 29. The county, however, is still averaging 8.6 cases a day over the past week. That number was 14.6.
Statewide, here’s how cases, hospitalizations and deaths looked Tuesday:
TUE. | Cases | Hospital | Deaths |
Wis. | 463 | 70 | 29 |
Minn. | 1,641 | 97 | 140 |
Iowa | 827 | 33 | 15 |
Of that data, 891 of Minnesota’s cases and 138 of those deaths were a result of data errors from months ago, officials said. The health department is looking into the four labs that failed to report the data to the state. They aren’t being named at this point because of investigations.
As for vaccines, La Crosse County opened the state’s second vaccination clinic on Tuesday (more here), as 13.6 percent of residents have been fully inoculated (15,990 people), and 21.8 percent (25,688) have received the first vaccine shot.
