One hurt in Arcadia mini-van vs semi accident

A mini-van hit a semi truck in Arcadia when the driver fell asleep while driving north on Hwy 93.

Gustavo Escamilla, 25, of Alma Center was driving north on Hwy 93 near North River Road when he dozed off around 1:54 p.m. Tuesday and, “struck something,” according to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office. Misagh Ghamsari, 40, of Maple Valley, Wash. said Escamilla crossed the center line and hit his semi on the driver’s side.

Escamilla was taken to the hospital by the Arcadia Ambulance Service. Nobody in the semi was hurt.

The accident is still under investigation.
