Snow headed back to the region

La Crosse’s last heavy snowfall happened on February 21st, three weeks ago.  But a winter storm could dump up to 6 inches of new snow in the region before Monday night.

The heaviest band of snow includes cities such as Rochester, Decorah, and Prairie du Chien.

La Crosse may get 2 to 3 inches, with the snow starting to fall around 7 a.m.

La Crosse has received only one-tenth of an inch of snow during the first 2 weeks of March, getting roughly an inch and a half for the entire month last year.

The city has had highs in the 60’s on four days in the last week.

By coincidence, Sunday is the last night of the alternate-side parking season in La Crosse for this winter. Odd-even parking is scheduled to resume on November 15th at the earliest, or the first day afterward when 2 inches of snow falls in the city.
