Sen. Johnson’s views move from fringe to extreme

We are used to hearing the fringe views from Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson. Now it seems his views are moving from fringe to extremist. The U.S. Senator has claimed the pandemic was nothing to be scared of. That it was made up to make the President look bad. He told us we didn’t need to take precautions like capacity limits. He told us President Trump won the election, but it had been stolen. Even after the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Johnson didn’t condemn it. And in a recent interview says of those who stormed the Capitol, “those were people who love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law.” Has he not seen the videos, or understood that five people died on one of the most disturbing days in our history when our democracy was attacked? But Sen. Johnson goes further, saying had the primarily white supporters of President Trump been Black Lives Matter protesters, then he may have been scared. Even for Johnson, such racist comments mark a new low. Anyone who attempts to attack our democracy needs to be condemned, regardless of their ideology. It can’t be ok because you agree with their cause.

Johnson is a disgrace, and acting as an asset of Russia essentially parroting Putin’s propaganda.
