Investment deal brings change in leadership at City Brewery

La Crosse’s City Brewery has announced a management change, at the same time as an investment deal to help the company grow. 

Ross Sannes will become the CEO of the local brewery upon the completion of a deal with three other companies: Charlesbank Capital Partners, Oaktree Capital Management, and Blue Ribbon Partners.  That transaction may be completed in April. 

Sannes has been the operating officer of City Brewery, and joined the company nine years ago. 

He’ll succeed local attorney George Parke, who is retiring as the brewery’s chief executive. 

City Brewery says it is also acquiring the Irwindale brewery in California from Pabst. 

City Brewery was formed shortly after the local closing of the G. Heileman Brewery in 1999.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
