Another incident of gunfire outside an area bar, the second in about a week.

A 52-year-old man from Tomah has been arrested for firing two shots outside a tavern on Main Street in Wilton late Saturday night.

The Monroe County sheriff’s office says Curtis Goulet was involved in a disturbance at the bar, before he got a pistol from his truck and fired it twice.  Bullets apparently hit the tavern and a second building, but no one was hurt.

Goulet then drove back to his home in Tomah, where officers caught up with him and tried to stop his truck with spike strips. He surrendered at his house, and is accused of attempted murder, 3rd time drunk driving, and operating a firearm while drunk.

Last weekend, an Onalaska man was charged with firing shots outside the Arterial Tavern in La Crosse.
