A dog treat company right here in La Crosse.

Treats you can eat, but Wuffy founders Jaclyn Cardin and Ashley Magee are really thinking out for the health of your pups.

Saturday, you — and your pups — can test out their treats for free with an Easter egg hunt of a different variety at Myrick Park. Call it a Easter dog treat hunt put on by Wuffy that’ll run from 1-3 p.m.

“We created it for dog lovers, who want to feed their dog the very best,” Cardin said on Z93’s Morning Buzz. “Our treats are 100 percent handmade. We use real, human-grade ingredients. They only contain a handful of ingredients, so they are super clean and handmade locally in La Crosse.”

Right now, Wuffy treats are sold only online but they offer free contact-less delivery in the La Crosse area to your door and free shipping in the state of Wisconsin on purchases over $30.

Wuffy will be at the Cameron Park Farmers’ Market on Fridays and Saturdays when that gets started May 7.

Cardin and Magee are both from western Wisconsin originally but Wuffy got its legs in New York.

“We started Wuffy in the kitchen of our Brownstone in Brooklyn in 2017,” Cardin said. “At the time, there was a lot of recalls on pet foods and we wanted to create a clean treat that people can trust.

“We quickly grew into a commercial kitchen space and were selling in Brooklyn farmers’ markets before moving back to La Crosse. It took a while to get re-established here but we are now in a commercial kitchen and back open for business.”

This weekend’s event is the first in a series they call Doggy Dog Days that will run through the fall.

“The idea is just to have fun events all summer long, where are doing meet ups, fun contests, fun runs, and things like that,” Cardin said.

There will be eggs to hunt for that are filled with Wuffy treats and some “Golden Eggs” with special prizes in them.
