The suspect in a recent La Crosse fight over wearing a face mask in public is firing his attorney.

Danny Link of La Crosse is looking for a new lawyer.  In court on Thursday, Link told Judge Ramona Gonzalez how he had been represented by Cheryl Gill.

“I asked her to do something, and she’s trying to make it sound like the joke’s on me,” said Link. “All I asked her to do was to go get the tape from Walgreen’s, and she says that’s not gonna happen.”

Last week, Link was found competent to go on trial for allegedly assaulting an elderly man outside the West Avenue Walgreen’s in February.

He was asking for security video that was used by the DA to bring charges against him.

The victim reportedly had complained about Link being in the store without a face covering, and was punched later in the parking lot.
