Possible evidence of ID of body found in Onalaska

Onalaska’s police chief says there are some signs that the remains found near Highway 53 may be those of a missing man last seen about 8 months ago.  But Chief Charles Ashbeck says an autopsy being done on Tuesday and other investigations should help determine whether the body was that of Tyler Henry, spotted near Sand Lake Road in September of last year.

“We did indicate to (Henry’s family) that there was some probable finds that this was Tyler’s remains,” said Ashbeck, who tells WIZM News the investigation at the scene is completed.

Police are looking into Henry’s activities before he disappeared.

“We’re still taking any leads from anybody…to indicate how he ended up there,” said the chief. “We suspect it was on his own free will.”

Two people picking up garbage along 35 near Sand Lake Road came upon the remains on Sunday.

Ashbeck says Henry is the only missing person currently being sought by police in Onalaska.
