As La Crosse County nears 50% of its residents getting the first COVID-19 vaccine shot, one clinic will begin taking walk-ins today.

Every Tuesday (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.), Wednesday (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m. – noon), Weber Health Logistics in downtown La Crosse (map) will accept walk-ins for the Pfizer vaccine.

Anyone 16 or older can receive the vaccine. The shots are free. No health insurance is necessary.

Individuals who would prefer to make an appointment Tuesday through Friday can do so by clicking here or by calling 608-780-7712. All appointments are guaranteed to get a vaccine.

Vaccine recipients under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

The news comes as the county hit 48.5% (57,266 people) of residents having gotten the first shot, while 35.8% (42,301) of residents had completed the series.

Statewide, Wisconsin is at 42.1% through the first shot and 31.5% fully vaccinated.

Those numbers nearly identical to both Minnesota and Iowa percentages.
