90-year-old ATV driver killed in crash near Bangor

A 90-year-old man has been killed while operating an all-terrain vehicle in La Crosse County. 

The La Crosse County sheriff’s department says Dennis Wood died on Saturday morning when he lost control of his vehicle while turning and was ejected. 

Wood was attempting to turn on Schroeder Road in the town of Bangor. 

Riding with Wood was 45-year-old Brian Shaw, who was taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. 

The DNR and Sparta ambulance were called to the scene, along with responders from La Crosse County agencies. 

Before this week, La Crosse County had just one traffic death so far in 2021.
