President of Viterbo leaving for college post in Illinois
Glena Temple is stepping down as president of Viterbo University, effective June 25, to take a leadership post at Dominican University in Illinois.
Temple has been at Viterbo for 20 years. She began as a biology teacher and worked her way up to the presidency in 2017.
At that time, she became the first female president at Viterbo in almost 50 years. She was also the first female head of the college who was not a nun.
The university will conduct a search for a successor to Temple in the fall. Vice President Rick Trietley now becomes the interim president at the school.
Temple is credited with securing more grant money for student success programs and with managing the remote learning conducted by the university during COVID-19.
