Man drowns trying to swim across pond at Black River Falls hotel

A man drown Sunday trying to swim across the Best Western Hotel pond in Black River Falls.

Several people attempted to find the man under water, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Dispatch got the call around 3:10 a.m. Sunday.

After an hour of searching, he was finally brought to shore. Life-saving measures were attempted, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
