An overdose death in La Crosse last winter has now led to a reckless homicide charge against the woman suspected of supplying drugs to the victim.

Branda Guillory of La Crosse allegedly provided pills to 26-year-old Colten Thorpe, who was found dead in a La Crosse apartment in February.

An autopsy found that Thorpe died accidentally from a dose of fentanyl.

The 25-year-old Guillory was questioned by police shortly after Thorpe’s death, and the homicide charge was filed this week.

Judge Gloria Doyle set bond for Guillory at $20,000 cash, and Guillory’s attorney objected that his client can’t afford that amount.

Guillory reportedly moved to La Crosse from Louisiana last year, and does not have a court record in Wisconsin.  She will be back in court on June 28th.
