More summer camp activity is available for young people in the area, through the La Crosse Community Theatre.

The Star Academy is designed to offer experience in theater work to kids ages 5 to 18, providing activities at three levels according to age.

Mary Cate Wesling from LCT says the theater has gotten donations from the community to help finance scholarships for the camps.

Young people wanting to apply for the programs can get information at the theater website, lacrossetheatre.org.

The oldest group, 13 through 18, will be putting on two plays this summer, “Frozen, Junior” and Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”  The Shakespeare performances will be in late July at the Riverside Park bandshell, with “Frozen, Junior” at the Weber Center. The two younger groups will put on shows Fridays, at the end of each week-long camp.
