Gunshot fired by officer during incident in Rushford

A police officer in Rushford fired a weapon this weekend, while responding to a call of a restraining order violation. 

The incident happened around 6:30 Saturday night.  No one was hit by the gunfire, and the state is investigating the situation. 

The suspect who was being sought by police in the incident is now in custody.     

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Authorities have not identified the officer or the suspect.
