A La Crosse jury has convicted a man who attempted a carjacking and smashed car windows at the Valley View Mall parking lot last year.

Three days were set aside for the case of Uneke Scarbrough, but the trial only lasted one day.

Scarbrough was found guilty on several counts against him, including attempted car theft and property damage.  He’s scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday.

Security video at the mall showed Scarbrough trying to steal a vehicle while somebody was sitting inside in January of 2020.

Jurors were chosen for the Scarbrough case on Monday, and only needed about an hour to reach a verdict yesterday.
