A La Crosse woman pleads “not guilty” to supplying pills to a friend who died of a drug overdose last February.

Branda Guillory of La Crosse was charged this month with reckless homicide in the death of 26-year-old Colton Thorpe.

La Crosse Police investigator James Mancuso testified in court Monday that an autopsy showed that Thorpe had taken fentanyl. Thorpe had recovered from another overdose just days earlier.

Guillory claims she found the pills at the motel where she works, and gave them to Thorpe, thinking they were oxycodone.

Her attorney says there’s no evidence connecting Guillory to the drugs that killed Thorpe.
