Formal charges have now been filed in a La Crosse murder case.

David Pearson Junior is now charged with second degree reckless homicide in the death of Cameron Baker.

According to police, Baker and Pearson got into an argument at Houska Park back on June 28th.

Apparently Baker had been causing a disturbance there and the two men got into an altercation when Pearson allegedly stabbed Baker in the chest.

Despite efforts by paramedics, Baker died of his injuries.

Pearson was arrested a short time later. He continues to be held in the La Crosse County jail on a half million dollar bond.

Pearson has been ordered to go on trial for other, lesser crimes.

He pleads not guilty to charges of damaging a UPS truck and stealing the truck’s keys, and to setting an open fire at Cameron Park.  Pearson asked to have both cases dismissed for lack of evidence.
