An apartment fire four months ago on Avon Street apparently was started on purpose, and a La Crosse man is now being charged with arson as a result.

Boyland

Dominique Boyland was considered a person of interest shortly after the March fire occurred, but recent information from witnesses has led to the arson charge this week.

Firefighters at the fire scene said all the burners of a stove were turned on, and flammable items had been placed on the stove top.

Boyland had denied being at the apartment, after he was released from jail on other charges.

Since that fire, Boyland has been charged in other felony cases in La Crosse and Monroe counties.
