UW-L offers its own incentives to get vaccinated
After one school year which was ended abruptly by a pandemic and another year affected by restrictions, the chancellor of UW-La Crosse is hoping this fall will be closer to normal.
But Joe Gow still wants as many local students as possible to be vaccinated.
UWL is planning drawings for prizes and scholarships to reward students who get their COVID shots. The La Crosse campus also could qualify for at least seven scholarships through an incentive program in the UW system.
Eighty-five per cent of La Crosse students who have answered a survey say they are fully vaccinated.
The La Crosse program is a companion to the effort through the UW System to set aside 70 scholarships of $7000 each for campuses that have a 70 per cent vaccination rate.
