As I See It
Election review getting a lot more costly, unnecessary
When will it ever be enough? Those who believe that Wisconsin’s election was stolen, or rigged, or fraudulent or whatever the latest conspiracy du jour are digging their heels in even more. They continue to make claims about irregularities in the election, even though of 3.3 million votes cast in the state, only 27 cases were referred to prosecutors. Most involved improper addresses on requests for absentee ballots, some of which were never cast. The Legislative Audit Bureau, at the insistence of the Legislature, has begun a review of the election. Speaker Robin Vos has hired Michael Gableman, a former Supreme Court Justice who has spoken at rallies for President Trump, to lead yet another investigation. And apparently that investigation is going to get bigger and more expensive. The two former detectives chosen to work with Gableman have quit, and now Gableman is basically being given carte blanche at taxpayer expense to hire as many people as he thinks he needs to get to the bottom of what happened in November. That will likely cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. What a waste. Our election officials have told us our election was secure and any possible cases of fraud, in single digits, will be prosecuted. What do they hope to find that the vote tabulation, hand recount, certification of the election and a non-partisan investigation have not found?

Getting to the truth is always scary to a democrat. Enought will be when that truth is revealed or is there a concern that you don’t want the truth told as liberal news outlets know the election was stolden.

The time for submitting evidence of fraud was when Trump’s attorneys filed and argued cases in court. They didn’t and apparently couldn’t produce any evidence of fraud or illegal activity. If the Republicans in the legislature want to continue wasting money on investigations, they should pay for it themselves, not with taxpayer money. The official position of the State of Wisconsin is that Biden’s electors were certified because Biden won the election in Wisconsin. It is inconsistent and foolish for the legislature to spend money trying to prove something different, which in the end can not make any difference.
