Cobb pleads “not guilty” in 2016 La Crosse armed robbery
Nearly five years after an armed robbery in north La Crosse, one of the suspects in the case is now headed to trial.
Robert Cobb, Jr., pleaded “not guilty” Wednesday to taking part in a September 2016 holdup at a title loan office on Rose Street.
Cobb allegedly drove the van used by the armed robber to get away. La Crosse Police Sergeant Cory Brandl said the van was traced to an owner named Amber.
“Amber had stated that during the days of the robbery, the father of her children, Robert Cobb, was the one who was operating the vehicle,” Brandl testified. “She said that she saw the vehicle before and after the robbery.”
Damario Graham was convicted of committing the holdup. He and Cobb fled to Illinois, where Cobb stayed for three years until he was arrested in early 2020.
Cobb was just returned to La Crosse County last month, and is jailed under a cash bond.
According to police, a video from the former Bridgeview Shopko store on the day of the robbery linked Cobb to a van seen at the holdup site.
