Charges have not been filed yet in Jackson County against two people reportedly caught by surprise while committing a burglary this week.

Police believe Aaron Lowe and Jolene Lowe had broken into a house in Alma Center on Monday, when the home owner showed up.

The owner says the intruders hit him in the head and escaped, but he was able to identify their car.  Officers traced that car to another Alma Center house on Tuesday, and negotiated with the Lowes for several hours before the suspects surrendered.

Jolene Lowe has another open case in Jackson County, while a recent case against Aaron Lowe was dismissed.

They could be charged with burglary, battery, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest.
