The Looney Lutherans will bring laughs to Mrs. Oktoberfest’s Ladies Day Luncheon
The comedy trio has song, dance, improv, and fun on the menu for Past Mrs. O’s Luncheon.
It all starts with a Bloody Mary bar and German music. Then lunch, door prizes and special guests — The Looney Lutherans.
This year’s Oktoberfest Ladies Day Luncheon is back, beginning at 11 a.m. Oct. 4 at The Waterfront’s Cargill Room.
“The room will be filled with, not just ladies, but men, too,” Committee co-chair and Mrs. Oktoberfest 2009, Barb Larsen, said. “You can meet the new royal family, you can get their buttons and their pins.”
Crazy George from St. Paul will be on accordion, while the past Mrs. Oktoberfests, and other royalty, will be there with gemütlichkeit.
Tickets are going quickly for this year’s program in part because of the Looney Lutherans.
The trio of wacky gals use music, comedy and some help from the audience to share their age-old wisdom for living a long and lively life.
You don’t have to be Lutheran to love them.
“I saw them two years ago in St. Paul and my ticket was over $100,” Larsen said. “They are fabulous! It’s the first time, to my knowledge, we’ve ever had this event in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and a lot of people know them.
“They’re a hoot!”
Larsen added that there are a few vendor booths still available. Businesses interested in this unique opportunity can reach out to the Oktoberfest offices.
The founding members appeared in the cast of the hit musical Church Basement Ladies.
