UPDATE: Threat of heavy rain, damaging winds Monday evening for La Crosse area

The National Weather Service — La Crosse is now saying a line of strong to severe storms will continue to move from the west to the east through the region this late Monday afternoon.

Damaging winds, locally heavy rainfall and hail are possible.

NWS — La Crosse says to “stay weather aware as you head home from work. When thunder roars, go indoors.”

There is also a sever thunderstorm watch for much of the area until 10 p.m.

Widespread rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are likely.
