La Crosse’s first Oktoberfest in 2 years officially starts Thursday, and the first event in the morning will be the Seniors Breakfast at the southside festgrounds.

The breakfast happens from 7 to 9 a.m. in the Heritage Tent.

WIZM’s Mike Hayes will be broadcasting live from the free breakfast.

The Mindoro Lions Club will be making the pancakes, and serving sausage, coffee, and juice as well.

Dr. Rock will perform music during the event.

The senior breakfast has been an Oktoberfest tradition for many years, and often featured a live broadcast of the former “Lead Balloon Show” hosted by Mike Kearns on WKTY-AM.
