A 59-year-old man from La Crosse has been ordered to serve 66 years in prison for causing a deadly drunk driving accident in 2018.

Albart Shores was tried in April for a crash that killed two men and severely injured two others.  The accident happened on I-90 in Sauk County, near the Dells.

A jury convicted Shores on 15 criminal counts, including multiple homicide charges.  It was the 7th drunk driving conviction for Shores.

The prosecution argued for 50 years in prison, and the defense called for a maximum of 25 years.  The prosecutor predicted that Shores would take more lives if he ever gets free.

Shores had a blood alcohol content just above the legal limit and used cocaine the night before.
