The La Crosse Fire Department spent hours Friday night searching for someone, who apparently jumped off a bluff in Hixon Forest.

The call came in around 7:30 p.m., as the La Crosse Fire Department rescue crews searched near Miller Bluff, off Rim of the City Road.

The victim was found below the bluff, in what the department said in a statement was an “extensive technical rescue,” needing 14 firefighters and first responders.

The LCFD worked with several agencies at the incident, including the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, La Crosse Police, Tri-State Ambulance, La Crosse Emergency Dispatch and the La Crosse County Medical Examiner’s office.
