La Crosse County says sustainability programs are the top priority for spending $23 million in federal COVID relief money.

Along those lines, the county is now asking residents what contributes most to their quality of life, and what they see as the biggest future threats to their wellbeing.

The Envision 2050 Comprehensive Plan survey can be found by clicking here.

A new, short survey asks the public to prioritize uses for land in their community.

It’s the latest round of public input being solicited by the county to help develop the Envision 2050 Comprehensive Plan.

The survey also asks the public whether the county should prioritize protection of natural ecosystems, even if doing so could slow economic growth.

The survey should take five minutes or less to complete.

Results of the opinion poll will be used to help county leaders create a comprehensive plan, which is updated once every 10 years. It describes the existing conditions of the county and lays out a vision to guide future decision-making.

Another recent survey, which received 1,400 responses, showed that county residents wanted affordable housing as its No. 1 priority, while sustainability was second.
