Semi loses brakes, crashes into another semi — both loaded with corn

Two semis loaded with corn crashed into each other Saturday, when the tailing truck lost its brakes.

The Vernon County crash led to eight hours of transferring corn from the trucks.

The call came into the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office around 2 p.m. Saturday.

The first truck, driven by a 21-year-old, was headed through the County I and County U intersection near Kickapoo, when the second truck, headed down the hill, lost its brakes and was unable to stop. The second truck was driving by a 57-year-old.

Nobody was injured.
