Two-truck crash near Blair leaves Whitehall driver dead

A woman from Whitehall is dead after two trucks collided on Highway 53 near Blair, Wis., on Friday.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office said 50-year-old Teresa Reinart was killed after her Dodge pickup crossed the center line of the highway and hit a Nissan pickup.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. Friday near Brekke Ridge Road.

Reinart reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Nissan, 57-year-old Cesar Mendoza of Blair, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Unofficially, this is the 4th traffic death of 2021 in Trempealeau County, compared to six for all of last year.

As of Nov. 21, 545 traffic deaths had been reported in Wisconsin so far, which is the highest number to that date in at least six years.
