A two-vehicle accident Tuesday, late afternoon, just south of downtown, in La Crosse.

Police told WIZM that the driver of the white car said they had lost control of their brakes, as they were heading south on 3rd Street, and ran the red light past the first of the blue bridges.

As they ran that light, the white car t-boned the SUV, sending it into a an electrical box of sorts.

Police said one person was taken by ambulance to the hospital, but the severity of their injuries was unknown.

Unfortunately this story was reported incorrectly. I know because I was next to the SUV that got T-boned by the white car that blew the red light and almost hit me before hitting the SUV. There were no signs of braking as I watched the white car hit the SUV. The white car that caused the accident also ran a red light at Cass and 3rd as well. So to correct the Story, the White car claims to have lost control of their brakes and ran a red light at Cameron Ave and Third Street South T-boning the SUV that was proceeding on a green light.

Thanks for the comment Matt. Only had time to talk to the officer for 7 seconds, as he was working the scene. An accident report has been requested from police. If you wish to provide a statement to police:
