La Crosse’s Davis does a bit of everything, as No. 23 Badgers hold off Georgia Tech
Four in a row for the 23rd-ranked University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team.
Johnny Davis and Brad Davison switched off halves in leading the Badgers to a 70-66 win over Georgia Tech in the Big 10/ACC Challenge matchup.
Davis, a La Crosse native, scored 12 of his 15 in the first half — including a steal and breakaway dunk — while Davison had 20 of his 27 points in the second. The Badgers (6-1) were up 32-31 at the break.
Davison was 9 of 16 from the field, 5-for-9 from deep.
Davis had five of Wisconsin’s 13 assist and also four of its eight turnovers. He added six rebounds, a steal and a block.
The 6-foot-5 sophomore went 4 of 9 from the field, 2-for-4 from deep and hit 5 of 8 free throws.
Davis leads the Badgers in points (19.3), rebounds (5.6) assists (3.2), steals (2.2) and turnovers (2.4).
At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Wisconsin hosts Marquette (7-1) at the Kohl Center.
