On this week’s episode of the Democratic Voice podcast, we look recent hate speech coming from elected officials, why there’s inaction to punish such matters and how not doing so, leads to a normalization of extremism.

La Crosse County Democratic Party chair William Garcia hosts the podcast along with WIZM’s Rick Solem. New episodes come out every Monday. To find them, just search The Democratic Voice wherever you download podcasts or find all the episodes on WIZM here.

The basis of this discussion begins with Islamophobic remarks from US House member Lauren Bobert (R-Colorado) directed at colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) and then a ridiculous statement from Donald Trump.

The bigger picture is how accepting things like this just moves the needle on other extreme actions — almost normalizing them.

But what is not address in this obvious democrat bias article is that it’s more often democrats with the hate speech and intolerance. And a failure by lead democrats to call it ou in their own party. WIZM needs more balance in these news updates, we are only getting half the story. Fact not opinion
