La Crosse airport to get $1.3 million next year

The La Crosse airport is scheduled to get $1.3 million in 2022, as the first-year payment from the Biden Infrastructure Law.

There are 86 airports in Wisconsin that will share nearly $40 million in funding, distributed by the FAA.

Airports can submit projects that can be funded by the federal money over the next few weeks. Washington is looking at spending that would promote safety and sustainability.

Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee will receive nearly $9 million next year. Truax Field in Madison has $5 million coming, and the Chippewa Valley Airport in Eau Claire will get just over $1 million.
