Garage damaged in early Christmas Eve fire in La Crosse

Firefighters in La Crosse were called out early on Friday morning to put out a garage fire at 1249 Adams Street, near West Avenue. 

The call came in shortly after 2 a.m., and crews got to the scene in 5 minutes.  The occupants got out of the house before the fire trucks arrived. 

There was heavy fire and smoke damage to the attached garage, but it did not spread into the house. 

The cause has not been determined.  The residents are able to stay in their home.     

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
