Rochester requires masks in public places for a few weeks
Rochester appears to be the latest city in Minnesota to impose a COVID mask mandate, because of the spread of the omicron variant.
The emergency declaration from the mayor’s office took effect early Sunday morning, and the Rochester city council was scheduled to meet Sunday night to decide whether the declaration can last longer than three days.
Minnesota Public Radio says the order to require masks in indoor public spaces in Rochester, with a few exceptions, is scheduled to continue through the first week of February.
Meanwhile, Minnetonka also has approved a mask mandate to take effect Monday night.
