Jackson County officer fired and arrested for alleged sexual assault of female prisoner
A former corrections officer in Jackson County is being charged with sexual assault by corrections staff and misconduct in office, both felonies.
Bret Noltner of Tomah, Wis., was arrested at his home last Thursday, shortly after he was fired from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say they have evidence, including jail camera footage, that the 29-year-old Noltner had sexual contact with a female inmate on two occasions while working at the jail.
Noltner had been with the department for only two months.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department has been conducting the investigation.
No date is set for Noltner’s next court appearance.
