Onalaska man among 3 killed when car crashed into semi

Three western Wisconsin men, including one from Onalaska, died in Black River Falls on Saturday when their car crashed into a semi that was crossing the highway. 

The accident happened around 1:30 in the morning on Highway 54 in Black River Falls.  The car hit a truck which was driving across the road from a parking lot to a Kwik Trip station. 

The victims are identified as 35-year-old Jorden Vidana of Onalaska, and two men from Black River Falls, 34-year-old Leonard Hopinka and 36-year-old Tyler Decorah. Hopinka was the driver.

None of the men was wearing a seat belt.

It was the first fatal traffic accident in Jackson County for 2022. Four people were killed by crashes in the county last year.
