As I See It
No need to ban CRT in Wisconsin
Wisconsin lawmakers have voted to ban something that doesn’t even exist. The Wisconsin Assembly voted this week to ban the teaching of Critical Race Theory. Critical Race Theory is an academic framework that looks at whether our systems and policies perpetuate racism. But it has become the boogieman for critics who argue it teaches that white people are bad and black people are good. Instead, it looks at how racism is embedded in our society, creating disadvantages for people of color. But Critical Race Theory is not part of the curriculum in Wisconsin’s schools. It is not being taught in the La Crosse School District, or elsewhere in the state. It seems there are many who don’t want to discuss issues related to race at all. They would prefer to whitewash our nation’s racist past, and don’t seem intent on doing anything to improve race relations if it makes them the least bit uncomfortable. We should be examining such important things through a critical lens. We should examine race relations to make sure we can improve race relations. It seems the people in power are in opposition to teaching a more critical examination of racism, and that is the very reason we need to be teaching such things. We can’t move on from our past without first acknowledging it even existed.

Just because it’s not being taught in Wisconsin schools now doesn’t mean that the ‘woke’ idiots won’t try to implement it in the future. No one is trying to whitewash our racist past. Any competent history teacher would be teaching our racist history to their students. They would also be teaching them that things have greatly improved. We had 8 years of a black president, and black employment was the highest its ever been under President Trump.

Since 1620 when the Pilgrims first landed at Plymouth Rock, it has been 402 years. 88 of those years had slavery as part of the United States and the first Republican to run for President won and after a costly war we got rid of slavery. 100 years after that the Republicans kept working on getting racism out of our culture and got the Civil Rights Act passed. Why is it that they have to keep fighting to keep it out of our country?

Where is all this racism? Blacks have a centuries long systemic hatred for whites, there’s the racism. Blacks control race relations, and all they offer America is victim hood and racial division. Instead of teaching CRT how about teaching Critical Unity Theory?

“Wisconsin lawmakers have voted to ban something that doesn’t even exist”
Sorry Scott, multiple handouts and materials from classes, teacher workshops, and online training around the country have revealed a doctrine being pushed on educators, students, and the public pushing ahistorical narratives that slavery arrived in the Americas with white people, and racist tropes that punctuality and hard work are white supremacy.
Call it CRT or just plain racism. Why would you defend it?
