Galesville auto service shop nearly totaled in weekend fire, suffers $1.5 million in damages
More than $1 million in damage resulted from a Sunday morning fire at Jeff’s Service in Galesville.
The auto shop has been in business over 30 years.
The city’s fire department says the service station along Highway 53 near Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School and the middle school is almost a total loss.
The fire was reported shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday. The cause has yet to be determined. A cat that lived at the business died in the fire and a firefighter was injured.
The Galesville fire chief said Jeff’s Service is almost a total loss, with about $1.5 million in damages.
Fire crews from several nearby towns, including Holmen and Trempealeau, were sent to the scene.
